Somerset Walking & Activity Group is one of over 45 Ramblers’ Association Young People’s Groups around the country, aimed mainly at walkers in their 20s and 30s. The group was set up in 2002 and now has over 60 members.

Our programme consists of regular walks, social events and weekends away. All events are organised by members of the group.

Walks are usually held on Sundays. We try to cater for all levels of ability by providing walks of varying distances across different terrains from gentle lowland walks to tough hill and mountain walks. You can find more information about length and difficulty of walks in our FAQ section.

Social events include pub nights, meals out, ten-pin bowling and much more besides!

We have at least one weekend trip away in each 4 month programme and these are spent hostelling, in B&Bs or camping. Due to their popularity these trips are open to members only.

Whilst every care is taken in planning walks no responsibility is accepted by the group, its organisers or walk leaders for any mishap however caused. Participation in any event is entirely at an individual’s own risk.
